Was Insurance Motive in Census Worker Hanging?


Investigators trying to solve the mystery of a census taker found hanging from a tree with the word “fed” scrawled on his chest are examining whether he tried to conceal a suicide and make a life insurance claim possible for his son. (Nov. 13)

    The son must be relieved that he is not considered a suspect; After all, the beneficiary is usually blamed in cases like this.

    When did he take out the policy? Suicide is covered after two years of taking out a policy. At least, that’s the law in Wisconsin. This does sound odd though.
