This case was one of the shorter ones. I don’t know why she asked about the movie but it probably had to do with the defendant’s defense that her daughter was choking when her foot slipped off the brakes. I suspect JJ just didnt believe the story wrote down on the summaries they submitted to the show (that she was driving her daughter to the video store, etc.). There is also no explanation how JJ knew the guy was not working that day or why it would be relevant to the case.
But WHO CARES what movie she rented???? Would it make a difference if it was “die Hard” or “Bambi?” NO. What difference to the case was her movie choice AT ALL??
